March 15th, Day 9: 7:30 Breakfast and then a drive to tour Vatican City and then time in Rome City Center...

The wall that surrounds the Vatican is massive! We learned the Vatican City is actually its own country and at one time, even stamped your passport.

Wow! These tapestries were incredible!
I couldn't believe when we got to this tapestry of Julius Caesar's assassination, and the tour guide said that they anniversary was March 15th...I was like "that's today!"

We were not allowed to take photos inside. It was pretty remarkable to look around at all the biblical murals painted around the ceilings by Michelangelo. The tour guide told us that the choir fills the area around the chapel tours the top and it sounds beautiful when they're singing.

WOW! This place is massive, the architecture is perfection, and the artwork is incredible!
One of Michelangelo's earliest works...he did this sculpture at age 23.
