As we all know, COVID has changed our lives for the negative. Teachers and students have to wear masks all day at school, kids have to listen to nonstop talk about the "pandemic" and have had so many events cancelled because of it.
The district has not allowed any pep rallies this season and then we found out that the Annual Homecoming Pep Rally and Bonfire that is held off campus had been cancelled as well.
Ryan and I made the decision that we would hold the Bonfire at our property, P5 Ranch, for the kids and community to still celebrate Mabank and have some normalcy and excitement to this Football Season. We had several people of the district not on our side but we found several others that were and offered the help that we needed! We got with Randy to provide another trailer for us and to be the MC, Ryan and a couple of his guys got the bonfire built, Katie and her friends painted the signs, I made an order of events for the HS and JH cheerleaders to perform, Little League Football Players came and Little League Cheer performed! Randy did a great job, the football boys were honored, the homecoming court was honored, the cheerleaders performed and the Bonfire was lit! It was a great time with awesome attendance!
