Happy 60th Birthday Dad!

Oh my goodness...60 used to seem so old...but it gets younger and younger to me each year!! LOL
Yesterday we surprised my dad when he and Mom went to eat breakfast at a local restaurant and Holly's family was already there and then we arrived shortly after to have birthday breakfast with him!!

Happy Birthday Dad...we love you so much!!

First Day of School

Well, yesterday was the first day of school for me and the girls!! It went sooooo much better than when we started last February!!! I couldn't have been happier!
I made Rylie a nap mat cover similar to the one I had made Katie last year. Rylie is out of a crib in her class and needed a mat...it is purple and white and soft and fuzzy! The night before, we got everything laid out for the next morning...they were excited to pick it all out! Rylie said "I'm not going to cry at school tomorrow." I was thinking "I hope so"!!! All ready to go...We arrive and they load up there stuff and start walking...still smiling!!!
(I'm worried the whole time the smiles will end soon....eeeek)
Rylie's class first...
Kisses, Hugs, Bye Bye...still smiling...YES!!!
Then Katie's room...
What a big girl...she was still smiling too!!!
If any of you know how awful it was last February (all three of us crying for 2 weeks) you can understand how amazing this was for me!! What a better, focused day I could have!!
I don't have students until next Monday, but the girls got to start during my inservice week...so that's why we're back so early.

Had a great time...thanks guys!

Beach Vacation 2009

We're Off...Papa and MamaJan (My parents, Dennis and Jan) and Our Little Family went on vacation to Rockport together...we had a fabulous time...and of course there are oodles of pics...

We got to stay in this awesome Townhome of our cousins, Scott and Laurie. It was amazing and thanks so much for letting us stay! It was three floors, three bedrooms, three and half baths, fantastic furnishings, you could fish from the back yard, there was a pool around the corner, and of course the beach was not far away!

Katie drew her way down a map as we went...each town she got to mark a little more and finally we were there...

Rylie being a silly girl...as usual!

We arrived and headed right down to the beach...our friends Chase and his fiance Toni met us there because Chase took Dad and Ryan out fishing the next morning... Mom, Rylie and Ryan and Katie with Chase

There we are! Katie and Rylie's first Beach/Ocean Experience!

Chase and Toni

Looking for crabs...and we got a bunch and PaPa (AKA Dad and Dennis) even bought the girls a cage filled with goodies for the crabs to bring home! Thank you PaPa!

The boys left for a fishing trip early in the morning...Mom and I and the girls took a trip to Corpus Christi to The Texas State Aquarium...

Good Fishing Boys!!

Texas State Aquarium...while the boys were fishing!

The girls got to pet a snake and baby alligator!

Katie touched a stingray...crazy!

Sea Turtles...Cool!

Me and My Girls!

We watched a dolphin show from underneath...the girls had a ball!

Me and My Wonderful Mom!

Up close with the otters!

The girls and their MamaJan!

Pool Time at night!

The next day...we headed back to Corpus because we saw this huge ship from the road the previous day and we wanted to go back and check out the USS Lexington Aircraft Carrier...it was great!
The Whole Gang!

There were lots of planes and one helicopter aboard the ship...and much much more to see...

Somebody Save Us!

Then to the Beach at Port Aransas... we had to ride a ferry across...so add another first to the girls book...they thought is was very neat to be moving across the water in our car!

I had to take advantage of the photo op before I let the girls play...

Those are pretty...I don't care who you are! LOL!

PaPa and MamaJan took Katie out to the bigger waves...Rylie didn't want to go!

Our family of feet...just don't look at the bottoms...they're black from tar!
There were tar clumps around the beach...but we still had a good time!

On the way home...we finally took a picture in our silly sunglasses that the girls made on the way! We were all dolled up!!

Now we're home...but we brought back some live souveniers!
We had a great time...thanks PaPa and MamaJan for letting us enjoy it with you!!
