Swingset and Fall Festival

Katie's swingset that Grani (Ryan's Mom) got her for her birthday finally arrived this past Thursday. So, we started working on it yesterday! I opened up all the boxes and got it all out for us to work on when Ryan got home. When he saw all the pieces, I think he was definitely having second thoughts...

There were like thousands of screws!

This is how much we got done in about 5 hours, then we went to Cheyenne and Savannah's (our nieces) volleyball game and to the Children's Fall Festival at the Civic Center in Canton. Cheyenne and Savannah both did great at their games!!
The Fall Festival on the other hand was not so great - the place and festivities were great - but Katie was SCARED of all the costumes and all the people, I guess???? She would not let me put her down or play any games. So, we were there about 10 minutes and left. Thankfully, it was only canned goods that we had to 'pay' with!
Here are a few pics of the girls after we got home...they were both cheerleaders...

Then, we were at it again today...
Ryan's really playing, instead of working!

TAA...DAA...10 hours in all later, but Katie loves it!!

Have a happy happy day!!

Pumpkin Patch and Abby's Party

Ryan and I got to spend the weekend at Scott Garrick's (Ryan's cuz) ranch in Graham deer hunting and having a great time with about 6 other couples - fam and friends!! Thank you Scott and Laurie! It was such a nice break and Mom took care of the girls - thank you Mom! Sandi (my future sister-in-law) and I got to just look off the back deck of the house and look out over this field with binoculars, while the guys were hunting, and see the biggest bucks we've ever seen - it was so much fun!
Then, we got back home this morning just in time to get ready and Mom dropped the girls back home after church and we were off to the Pumpkin Patch. Katie has been looking forward to this all month. She still remembers and talks about going last year with Mom's class at school. So, she got to paint her a pumpkin!

Then we had picture time...

Katie had a lot of fun on the huge blown up slides! She was scared to go buy herself at first, so I went with her a couple of times - then she was good to go - over and over!

They had a little train ride - that was fun for her!
Then we were off the Abby's (Katie's Little Bud) Birthday Party!
She is just adorable!

This is a pic of the kids waiting for the special guest! BARNEY! Yes, Barney was at the party. Now, they got a video of what happened next, and it probably needs to go to Funniest Home Videos. Because, the kids scattered - and QUICK! Poor Barney felt so rejected! But it was hilarious!

Barney did a little dance for us to Barney songs!

This is Lindsay (Abby's Mom) and Abby with Barney - she was warming up a little, but not so sure.

Rylie would reach for Barney from a distance then would cling to Ryan when they got close. Katie, however did not warm up to him at all - despite our conversations on the way over about Barney being there and her being extremely excited about that!
Some of the kids ended up hugging him and taking pictures with him before he left!
You're a good Uncle Dustin!!!
Then, there was a hayride through the woods, that was fun!

Look at these cute little girls walking back to the house from the hayride!

This is Katie and Abby on Abby's new Pony!

Talkin' and Walkin'

First of all, Rylie got a new car seat - she was about to bust out of the little baby one - haha!! Well, she loves it - looking forward and can see what is going on. And she reaches over to hold Katie's hand, it just the sweetest thing!!
This morning Rylie took six steps in a row AND said "Katie" well, it was actually "tatee", but we knew what she was saying!! She says "uh...oh" when she drops something, and "ee...iii" for peep-eye and holds up her hands by her head. She will also play peep-eye by herself with a birp rag.

If you look real close you can see her lonesome little tooth on the bottom!Have a great day everyone!!

The State Fair of Texas

We went to the State Fair yesterday, and we had such a great day! We were there for about 8 hours, and the girls were great!! Here is some pics of some of our fun...
One of the best parts though, we didn't get a picture of but we had the girls hold hands and they dipped them into a "molding clay/casting" and pulled them out after about thirty seconds - then about thirty minutes later we had a perfect looking permanent model of their sweet little hands!! It is so wonderful! We are waiting here for the Flying K9 show to start - Katie was impressed with those dogs, let me tell ya!
This is the big ol' pig that weighs over 1100lbs. They said it lays down for 20-23 hrs. a day!

After we looked at all the livestock they have for show...we were off to the petting barnyard...a little tiny goat got out of the fence right in front of us, so Ryan just picked him up and put him back over - Katie thought that was really funny!

Now she's awake...now she's not!!

What's the State Fair, without a pic of Big Tex!

The next few pictures are of Katie at this cute little farm they have sat up where kids can be the "farmhand" - they get corn and feed the fake cows and chickens, then collect their milk and eggs. They get a seed and plant it, then go to the garden and collect the vegetable their seed wood have made, then collect wool from the sheep, then ride the tractor, then put everything they have collected in their baskets into the appropriate bin, get paid, then get to buy two things from the General Store. It was so adorable!

Lunch Time

Elsie the Cow was a big hit with Rylie, she loved feeling of her ears!

The Human Cannonball - this man gets shot up 75ft in the air, then lands in that net at the back of the picture. We didn't get a shot of him flying, cause we had to hold the girls' ears from the loud BOOM from the cannon. It was great.

This is a huge sand castle - amazing, huh?

The next few pics are of the parade...very cool! Katie got a kick out of the dressed up horses and the people on stilts!!
