Saint Lucia Vacay!!

Windjammer Landing in Saint Lucia
I'm so thankful for this trip! Our original dates had to be canceled while Ryan was in the hospital and then we had to wait a bit to see if he'd be healthy enough to fly.  When he was clear and I found 6 days straight that all 5 of us would be available, I jumped on it! This devoted time together is priceless to me.  It was much more on mind this trip, with Rylie also moving out this coming week. Our lives are about to have another drastic change, but I had my wonderful week together:)

It's Travel Day!!
Up and at 'em at 2am to leave at 2:30am to arrive at airport at 3:30am for a 5am flight!

5am flights mean you see the sunrise from the sky!

Change planes in Charlotte...

Next Stop: St Lucia!

We arrived...I love outdoor airports!

We had about an hour windy ride to out resort...Windjammer Landings and Resort

Such a beautiful place!
We toured the grounds a little and then went to our villa!

Our villa had 3 bedrooms and very spacious! WE loved it!

Ready for Dinner!

Lovely dinner...we were just a little surprised about the number of cats walking about.

We walked about around the pool but we were so tired from our long day! Back to the villa!

Rise and Shine in Beautiful Saint Lucia! Our balcony view!

Ryan went to the gym and had this view on his walk back.

Breakfast!

Beach Time...

Kayaking and Peddle Boating was fun...our first time to do this in the ocean!

Ocean Hammocks!

The property is gorgeous!

We loved spotting the crabs!

My favorite girls!!

This ice cream shop is adorable!

Pool Time!

Fyn had enough water, so we changed and went walking...

Steep hills everywere you go and the resort as a shuttle service but we liked the exercise!
We found a playground!

Ready for Dinner!

Night walks on the beach looking for crabs!

Good Morning! Another walk down the hill!

These views during breakfast is so nice!

Beach Time and Pool Time!

We love the ice cream shop...mostly the banana ice cream!
Everything comes in banana here since that's they're biggest export...banana groves everywhere!

A bird pooped on Katie's head...she was totally grossed out, while were dying laughing:)

Ready for pictures...our photographer was late so we had time to kill.

The photographer made Ryan do some solo shots...he wasn't thrilled...ha!

The professional pics...

Dinner/Dessert Time!

The next morning, the girls planned to be on the beach for sunrise, but we really can't see sunrise where we're located.  They went out anyway and had some time together and a little painting time...

Boat Day...Jammers Day Sail!!
We took a catamaran tour to Soufriere to see the Pitons, take a volcanic mud bath, and to rinse off in the Toraille Waterfall, then we had lunch on the boat and stopped for snorkeling on our way back!! Such a fun day!

Views along the way...

We see the Pitons!!

Pulling into Soufriere!

Cute town with little boys selling us flowers as soon as we walked up the pier!
We rode a van to get to the Volcanic Mud Baths.

Covered ourselves in minerals...

and got in the warm running water...it was interesting! I didn't come out feeling any younger:)

Then the van took us to the Toraille Waterfall for a very cold rinse!

Such a beautiful area...

Back on the Catamaran for lunch and to stop for snorkeling!

Ready for Snorkeling...Ryan decided to stay on the boat!

Snorkeling Pics...

Glad we had on water shoes...the sea urchins were plentiful!

Fyn got to Captain a few minutes on our way back to Windjammer!

Back at Windjammer Landing!

A little New Yorker girl Fyn met on the boat:)

Silly Faces at Dinner!

Cloudy night made for a pretty sky!

This big ol' crab lives here and we looked for him anytime we passed by!

Such a fantastic day!

This day was for a morning of Zip Lining in the Barre de L'Isle Rainforest...that turned into much longer.  The 30 minute ride there became an hour and 40 minutes with traffic and picking up others. We were tired of the windy roads and wanted out of that van!! We were not excited about the ride back but it was only 40 minutes so not too bad! We drove through another little town and saw their market.

Barre de L'Isle Rainforest

After we checked in, they had us try local mango and coconut which both were very good! We all liked the coconut more than we did in Hawaii!

Got our gear for Zip Lining!

We had great guides that got some fun pics...

We had lunch at the Rainforest and then back to Windjammer!

We had some daylight left to swim...

Headed to Dinner down our favorite hill...of course, it's much easier going down than up!

It started raining at dinner, so Ryan just ran up the hill, but the girls and I weren't feeling it, so we decided to take the shuttle...which is just small vans.  Now, these are one-way streets since they're not wide enough to pass (and maybe a little less steep on the correct route) but many of the drivers didn't abide by these traffic rules and the driver we had tonight was one of those!  He went the "wrong" way on this steep hill with wet streets and wet tires.  He couldn't make it up 3 times, with us rolling back down and trying again. I said, "it's okay, we'll just walk" with my hand on the door handle but he said "no, no, no" and tried again and he gave it enough juice because we made it up.  We were all quite concerned!

It's a new day with beautiful views...we had to say hi to our crab friend!

All the pool time we could handle!

Fyn's favorite meal of the trip...coconut shrimp and this dessert was yummm! Chocolate mousse and chocolate cake in a jar!

A little more beach time on our last full day!

Last Dinner at Wind Jammer...

Cards by the pool!

Our last night hike up the hill!

I wanted to kayak, one more time, before leaving so Ryan and I got up and did that first thing!

We got a little time in before the downpour! We rowed back to the hut in the rain, but it was fun! We had breakfast without the girls...they didn't want to come out in the rain!

All packed up and ready to go.

We saw this pretty church on our hour and half ride to the airport!

Passports!

Made it to Charlotte long enough to grab Chic-fil-a to eat on the plane and then made it safely to DFW...

Made it home about 12am and then Katie had to head to College Station for "work week" with DG. Thankfully, she was only as far as Eustace when she called and said she had a blowout, so her Daddy went to her rescue. He got her donut put on but they brought her car back to the house and we switched her things to my car, and she took my car for the week. I think she got to College Station about 4am and had to be up at 6ish for her day...poor thing:(
