1st in District UIL

You're looking at 1st Place Winner in Oral Reading at the District UIL Meet!!

Oral Reading Team!

She was happy at pick up! We didn't yet know her place, but she felt confident!

UIL City Meet

It's an early Saturday morning and she's ready for her UIL City Meet!

She's so good with her poem "Perfect"

Fyn woke up not feeling well today but also wanted to go with her UIL Oral Reading team to Brownsboro to compete at the District Meet. So, I told her she could go but I would go to Brownsboro and pick her up as soon as she finished. She was finished about 1 and was so glad that I was there because she was so puny with her head and throat hurting. She said that she thinks she was lively enough during her reading:) We later found out that she got 4th place!!

Her teammates, Jade and Jaxon got 1st and 3rd!

She managed a smile for me since we didn't get one before she left this morning.

I brought her some comfy clothes and she went to sleep on the way home!

City UIL Meet

Fyn and Sawyer had their City UIL Meet today to decide who gets to go on to the District Meet in January...

Fyn's in Oral Reading!

Sawyer's in Chess, Music Memory and one more event!

Fyn placed 3rd and will get to move on to District!

Sawyer also placed 3rd in 2 of her events!! Go girls!

UIL Oral Reading!

Tryouts were a couple of days ago and Fyn found at that she made the UIL Oral Reading Team, again this year!! Go girl!!

We got her poem picked that evening!!

District UIL Day!

She's ready...she says she's a little nervous but she's ready!

She traveled to Brownsboro on a bus with other Mabank 3rd and 4th graders to compete in the District UIL meet.

She got to sit with Pepper!

I texted her Oral Reading Coach, Mrs. Williams, about 1pm and she told me that they were on their way back and I said "oh, how did she do?" and she said, "She wants to be the one to talk to you about her event." I was a little nervous then because of course, that could go either way!

I waited in the pick up line and pulled up where she was walking out and saw the biggest grin on her face that she could not contain and just knew it was good!

Then she told me "Mom, I got FIRST!!!"

I screamed and she said "MOM!" So proud of my girl!!

Most of her UIL Oral Reading practices occur in the car but these were some funny moments...and the funnier the location, the more dramatic her voice:)
