Last night we went to the TEXAS STAMPEDE! We had so much fun! It is really all thanks to my Aunt Deborah, or we really wouldn't even know much about it. She is a volunteer for the Texas Stampede and puts together a great activity area in Victory Park for the kiddos. They had lots of fun...
Spin The Top ContestMeeting Elsie the Cow...the girls are pretty familiar with her from the fair...she had her baby with her! Rylie kept saying she wanted to ride the baby bull later and this is the calf she was talking about!! I couldn't be in this picture with a longhorn, but it's a good one of MamaJan and all but one of her grandchildren.
Jonathan giving ropin' a try! Savannah on the mechanical bull...she did a pretty good job!
The Rodeo Begins...
This guy is very talented!
That's my baby on the big screen...it's not a very good picture though.
But, Deborah gave Katie's and Jonathan's name to the lady who headed up the Chuck Wagon Race, so Jonathan and Katie got to participate down on the dirt.
I didn't get Jonathan in this one, but Katie is in the yellow shirt in the middle, right in front of Miss Texas Stampede.
Katie was an alternate, so she hung out with Miss Texas Stamped with the checkered flag. She loved it!
There is Jonathan pulling his wagon for his team...it was a relay race with wagons.
These are the art and poetry winners for this year with Aunt Deborah on the far end and her daughter, Jennifer on this end. Mom's and my class sent in entries. Mom's must be a lot more talented (and a year older)...she had two first place winners...I didn't have any...but all the entries were hung up at the American Airlines Center.
Then, Lady Antebellum's Concert began...
At 11:00 at night, Katie finally decided she wanted to give the mechanical bull a try...she did it...but was pretty nervous...as you can tell by the look on her face!!
What a great time, thanks Aunt Deb for making all the extras happen for us...and the free tickets...what a memory!
