We had the opportunity to celebrate Katie's 21'st birthday in New York City!!
Katie and Rylie left right after the Aggie game to meet Fynlie and I at the Houston Airport, on Saturday, and then we took off to NYC for 2 nights!
Saturday Travel...
We made it! We got to the hotel about midnight and crashed!
We enjoyed the The Manhattan at Times Square's location very much...the room needed a little TLC but we weren't in there much!
Sunday in New York...
It was rainy, and since I only brought 1 umbrella, our first stop was a gift shop for 3 more small black umbrellas that we used most of the day!
Breakfast at Joe and the Juice!
Central Park is so pretty!
Their first street hot dog! I thought it was hilarious and sweet that Katie and Rylie just immediately covered Fyn so she could have two hands for her hot dog!
The Met!!
The Plaza!
Lunch at Sarabeth's...yummm!
Not sure why we didn't peak into The Plaza Hotel...bummer!
Rode the Tramway over the river to Roosevelt Island!
Always time for Serendipity dessert!!
THAT MENU!!
Trump Tower!
Louis Vuitton!
Saint Patrick's Cathedral
Lego Store!
The cutest coffee truck and Fyn made a friend...
Just the other day, Rylie asked Ryan if they made crab rolls instead of just lobster rolls because she likes crab way more! And there you go...a food truck at Rockefeller Plaza with crab rolls and they LOVED it!
FAO Schwarz is incredible!
She made her own slime!
Radio City!
Back to the room to freshen up and leave the bags:)
Then a walk through Times Square!
We found a yummy pizza spot!
The Empire State Building
We made it to the Grand Central Terminal and were told to try out the whisper room!
You stand at opposite corners of this domed area and whisper against the wall and the sound waves travel over, and the other person can her your whispers...fun to do!
Fynlie's whisper to me...
"thank you for this trip"
I love how appreciative my girls are:)
Really pretty place!
Then we went up for the night view at Summit One Vanderbilt...
Back in Times Square...also had to try a street corn dog!
Katie's picking her slice of cake to blow out her candle in Times Square at Midnight!
Pics in the Street at Midnight!! She's 21!!
When Ry was having trouble keeping the candle lit, with the wind, this guy thought he could help...joint in mouth and all! He was nice:)
Happy Birthday to our GIRL!!!
Back in the room...gifts before sleep!
Monday...everyone is skipping school and happy about it! Happy Birthday to Katie!
Rolling our luggage down to the front desk at 6:30am to make the most of our day...
Took an uber to Pier 11 in the Financial District to take Fulton Ferry to DUMBO, Brooklyn!
Breakfast at Butler
Pebble Beach...Jane's Carousel wasn't open...bummer!
Manhattan Bridge from Washington Street
DUMBO Archway
Now walking the Brooklyn Bridge back to Manhattan...the best walk on the prettiest day!
We see the Statue of Liberty from afar!
Cute area near Pier 17!
Made it to our lunch reservation at Malibu Farm!
Katie's first "drink" to order...espresso martini!
After our perfect birthday lunch, we ubered to SOHO and shopped a little and then stopped at this little bakery for another treat with a birthday song!! The lady in the bakery asked where we were from and then she told us that she was from Terrell and knew of Mabank! Crazy!
One more birthday song and candle wish for our 21 year old!
Sleepy girl on our ride to the airport!
We like the people movers!!
BYE, NYC!! On the plane, I was sitting next to Rylie and as we were watching our take off through the window...my crazy Rylie says "and in my head, I still don't believe in airplanes." What?!
Home at last in my new NYC pajamas:)
I am so thankful for this time with my girls! Ryan makes this possible for us and the girls are so appreciative which makes it all so much sweeter!
