The State Fair of Texas

We went to the State Fair yesterday, and we had such a great day! We were there for about 8 hours, and the girls were great!! Here is some pics of some of our fun...
One of the best parts though, we didn't get a picture of but we had the girls hold hands and they dipped them into a "molding clay/casting" and pulled them out after about thirty seconds - then about thirty minutes later we had a perfect looking permanent model of their sweet little hands!! It is so wonderful! We are waiting here for the Flying K9 show to start - Katie was impressed with those dogs, let me tell ya!
This is the big ol' pig that weighs over 1100lbs. They said it lays down for 20-23 hrs. a day!

After we looked at all the livestock they have for show...we were off to the petting barnyard...a little tiny goat got out of the fence right in front of us, so Ryan just picked him up and put him back over - Katie thought that was really funny!

Now she's awake...now she's not!!

What's the State Fair, without a pic of Big Tex!

The next few pictures are of Katie at this cute little farm they have sat up where kids can be the "farmhand" - they get corn and feed the fake cows and chickens, then collect their milk and eggs. They get a seed and plant it, then go to the garden and collect the vegetable their seed wood have made, then collect wool from the sheep, then ride the tractor, then put everything they have collected in their baskets into the appropriate bin, get paid, then get to buy two things from the General Store. It was so adorable!

Lunch Time

Elsie the Cow was a big hit with Rylie, she loved feeling of her ears!

The Human Cannonball - this man gets shot up 75ft in the air, then lands in that net at the back of the picture. We didn't get a shot of him flying, cause we had to hold the girls' ears from the loud BOOM from the cannon. It was great.

This is a huge sand castle - amazing, huh?

The next few pics are of the parade...very cool! Katie got a kick out of the dressed up horses and the people on stilts!!

first tooth, first steps

Our little baby is growing up!!
Of course, I am really glad her first tooth popped through - I was starting to get a little worried. Katie had her first tooth at 6 months, so here we are going on 10 months with Rylie and I was starting to wonder if she had any in there. So yea - she got one!
Also, a few times she has taken and step without holding onto anything, but falls right down. However walking along the couch or wall - she has mastered!! She is a cutie!!

Our Little Fashion Show

Our Little Prissy Drama Queen gives us a Fashion Show...

Presley and Katie Mae

Presley spent the day with us yesterday while Amber worked with Ryan at a Concession Event. We had a really fun day with her. She got here before Katie woke up (and she didn't know she was coming). So, when she came out of her room and around the corner and saw her she smiled from ear to ear - she was very excited to see her cuz!! Morning cartoons were first on the agenda - every episode of Dora that aired - they were watching - I think it is the favorite of them both!

They colored for quite a while, I had to remove Rylie from the room, she was crampin' their style. I don't blame them though, she was trying to eat their books and crayons!! Thanks to Carla and her b-day present to Katie Mae they both had a tray to color on - of course, Katie had to have the new one - Presley didn't care, she's pretty easy going - here, anyway - right Amber?

It was a perfect day for riding the jeep! They had a lot of fun - I think it was a little preview of about 14 years down the road!! Of course, they better be drivers by then, or they won't be going anywhere! They even were very nice about taking turns driving - even Katie, our little control freak!!
They were so cute eating their lunch together! Chicken Noodle Dora Soup for everyone!!
At the end of the day, they were still lovin' each other!!
Oh...something funny...I walked in Katie's room and Katie was blowing on her fingernails - I said 'what are you doing'-she helped up her fingers, they had painted their fingernails with lip gloss. That, I didn't mind so much, but when they used the other kind of lip gloss that squishes out to put in their hair as shampoo - I got a little irritated!
